  Here at SafetyMode Systems, our number one priority is customer service and customer satisfaction. We only deal with and sell quality products. However, we understand there may be times when a customer may not be happy regardless, or the product may be damaged during shipment, have a factory defect, etc. The following are our return and exchange policies for our self defense items (camera and taser items have their own separate policies).

Return Policy For Self Defense Items
We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on our self defense items (excluding camera and taser items). If you are not fully satisfied, you may return your order within 30 days of receipt. We only ask that you follow our guidelines when doing so. Refunds are contingent upon inspection of the item(s) once we receive it. Please allow 7-10 days for processing returns.

If you need to return an order, please read the following:
Contact us by email for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Provide your name, order number, order date, what you would like to return, reason for the return, and daytime telephone number in your email. All items must be accounted for and with their original packaging and literature. There must also be a note in the box explaining the problem. Returns without a note could result in a longer processing time. The RMA number must be on your return shipping label, returns without an RMA# on the label will be refused and returned to the customer. Remember, no returns without an RMA number.

Returns must be shipped to us within 30 days of your receipt of the item(s). Important: We cannot accept pepper sprays back unless we sent the wrong item or its defective.

Exchange Policy For Self Defense Items
Within 30 days of your receipt we will happily exchange any of our self defense items for any reason (excluding camera and taser items). If the product is being exchanged because of damage during shipment, a manufacturer's defect, or we sent you the wrong item, then you will NOT be charged for us to ship the replacement item to you..... however, if you want an exchange because you simply ordered the wrong product, wrong size, wrong color, wrong type, or you just changed your mind and want a different item, then you will be billed our standard shipping cost of $8.50 for UPS Ground to ship the replacement item back to you.

To have items be exchanged, please read the following:
Contact us by email to get an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Provide your name, order number, order date, what you would like to exchange, daytime telephone number, and reason for the exchange in your email. All items must be accounted for and with their original packaging and literature. There must also be a note in the box explaining the problem. The RMA number must be on your return shipping label, exchanges without an RMA# on the label will be refused and returned to the customer. Remember, no exchanges without an RMA number.


If the item is under a warranty period that is longer than 30 days, then the warranty period is honored above and beyond the 30 days exchange rule, and if the item becomes defective during normal use during the warranty time period, the item will be repaired/replaced within said warranty time period, and no shipping charges will apply to ship a repaired/replaced warranty item back to you.

Exchanges must be shipped to us within 30 days of your receipt of the item(s). Important: We cannot accept pepper sprays back unless we sent the wrong item or its defective.

Camera Returns
All of our camera items are special order items and are not subject to cancellations or returns for refund. This includes all items displayed and sold under the camera product categories listed on our camera homepage. All camera sales are final-no returns for refunds. Due to the nature of this product line, exchanges for camera items will only be accepted under the following 3 circumstances: (1) If it is damaged or defective upon shipment to the customer. (2) Becomes defective under NORMAL intended use during the warranty period. (3) We accidently shipped a camera model to you that is different than the camera model you actually ordered, and in this case we will reimburse the shipping charges you incur to ship the wrong camera model back to us. However you must use UPS Ground or FedEx Ground to ship the wrong item(s) back to us, as we will only reimburse shipping charges for either of those two shipping service choices.

And in those 3 circumstances previously mentioned above, the camera item(s) will only be repaired or replaced, and shipped back to you the customer. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the item to us (unless we sent you the wrong camera model) and we will ship the repaired or replaced item back to you at no charge. WARRANTY: We guarantee all camera products to be free of defects in workmanship and material for 90 days (unless manufacturer's warranty is longer) after sale to the customer. We will replace or repair the product(s) at our option provided there is no evidence of customer misuse, abuse, or alteration.


If the camera item is damaged or defective, send us an email for an RMA number within five (5) business days of your receipt of the camera item(s). No camera exchanges will be authorized after five (5) business days of receipt of the item(s) by the customer. NOTE: In the case of a camera item becoming defective under NORMAL use during the warranty period, then of course the warranty period will be honored above and beyond the 'within five (5) business days of receipt' exchange rule.

A SafetyMode Systems representative must authorize the exchange, and under no circumstances will exchanges be accepted otherwise. Provide your name, order number, order date, what you would like to exchange, reason for the exchange, and daytime telephone number in your email. All authorized exchange items must be accounted for with their original packaging and literature. There must also be a note in the box explaining the problem. Exchanges without a note could result in a longer processing time. The RMA number must be on your return shipping label, returns without an RMA# on the label will be refused and returned to the customer. No exchanges without an RMA number.

We have implemented this return policy for our camera items because of the misuse of our former liberal return policy. A few unscrupulous people have ordered our camera products for specific short term uses and then returned the product in a condition that would not allow us to resell. We test all of our cameras before shipping. Your satisfaction is our number one concern. If you have any questions, please email us before placing an order.

Taser Returns and Warranty Info
Defective Tasers:
If you happen to receive a defective Taser, or if it becomes defective during the warranty period, then you must return it directly to Taser for replacement; DO NOT return a defective Taser to SafetyMode Systems. Unopened Tasers:
If the Taser is still in the packaging, has not been opened whatsoever, and is in resellable condition then you may return it to SafetyMode Systems. However, you must ship it back to us within 10 business days of your receipt of the taser item - we will not accept it otherwise, no exceptions. We feel that 10 business days (which includes one, maybe two weekends as well) is long enough for you to decide whether to permanently keep it and open the package--or not. All Taser items, documentation, and literature must be accounted for. We do not accept opened tasers for return whatsoever.

To return an unopened, resellable Taser product: Contact us by email for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Provide your name, order number, order date, what you would like to return, reason for the return, and daytime telephone number in your email. All items must be unopened and accounted for with their original packaging and all literature. Please include a note in the box stating the reason for the return. The RMA number must be on your return shipping label, returns without an RMA# on the label will be refused and returned to the customer. Remember, no returns without an RMA number.


Please send:
All returns or exchanges via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground service since these methods are easily trackable. If you absolutely must use US Postal Mail, then we advise that you pay for a trackable service, include delivery confirmation and possibly insurance. We advise against shipping items by regular US Postal First Class Mail service. Please notify us of the tracking number once the package has been shipped.


It is yours and the carrier's responsibility to make sure the package arrives safely to SafetyMode Systems; we will not be held responsible for damaged or lost packages by the carrier. Send returns or exchanges to:

  Customer Service - All orders are shipped the same day they are ordered or within 24 hours. Weekend and Holiday orders ship the next business day. There are no surprise costs involved. Shipping is FREE for orders $50.00 or more (Ground only). Please provide a physical address and not a PO Box since UPS cannot deliver to a PO Box. How long is Ground delivery transit time?
